The Force Unleashed
by Noah on Nov.22, 2009, under
From what I've seen, it seems like it's inpossible for this game to be hard, I played the whole demo and completed it without losing more than 25% of my health. But I guess that's kind of the point. I don't know what I'd rate it, I guess somewhere around 9.5. The only thing that kind of bugged me is the way the character jumped.
So go check it out, and may we all look forward to September 16th.

August 26, 2008 at 8:54 PMI've been playing around with the demo on my 360 since it came out last week -- hot stuff :). My favourite part is the ability to force-push stuff around the level. Try floating a stormtrooper near a box and watch him grab on for dear life; or try moving him near to one of is friends and watch as they grab onto each other for support. All things considered, this is the best Star Wars game I've played in a long time; it definitely made me feel like a badass dark jedi :).

August 27, 2008 at 6:55 PMEDIT: You can saber throw in the demo. It's lots of fun.
Yes, I will be getting it, I've preordered it already.
I think they should make the game harder, and if that happened, I would want to buy it more. Maybe the demo is so easy so the younger kids who are 'less skilled' will be more into it. Or maybe it's easy for experimental purposes. For example, if it was harder, you couldn't spend five minutes trying to throw a TIE fighter into a croud of enemies while being shot at.

September 1, 2008 at 9:38 PMHey Noah,
Do you ever give up on a game? Like, if you tried the game for the demo and then it was too hard and you felt frustrated... have you ever "given up" on a game? Anyone, for that matter, have you ever given up on a game, and when would you do that?

September 2, 2008 at 5:23 PMI have given up on a couple of games.(Only to try again in a couple days.) Usually I only give up in a situation where you do something small at the beginning of a game that affects the game significantly later on.
For example: There's a timed level in 'Republic Commando' for the X-Box. Near the end, it auto-saves. So if you weren't trying your best then, and were almost out of time at the auto-save, you can't beat it unless you restart the whole mission.
But I've never really given up on a game because it's too hard. Exept for MegaManZero 4 on hard mode. Which is inpossible!

September 7, 2008 at 7:36 PMI think that's really interesting what you said about 'Republic Commando'. The fact that you have to be on your 'best behaviour' all the time, your best playing, is kind of un-realistic, isn't it? The one thing that I (think) I have observed in video games, is that you can make a mistake and then try again to fix it. I think that would turn me off of a game, if my momentary bad playing made me start all over again! Anyone else experienced this, what Noah is talking about?

Hey Noah,
Thanks for the review. That's great. Sept 16th is the release date, I am assuming? Do you think you will get it? We will try and get it for the Saturday gaming session to be planned for the end of September. Do you think they allowed you to do so well on the game in the demo so that you will buy the game? What I mean, I guess, is would gamers be more likely to buy the game if they succeed in the demo, or if it is a really difficult challenge? what do you think?
