Littlebigplanet??

by Liz on Nov.22, 2009, under

Hey guys,
How are you? I am really excited about the gaming sessions this fall, and I will be sending out some info very soon about the September session. Hopefully everyone will be able to make it! I was reading this article about some new games coming out, and one that caught my eye was "littlebigplanet" http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en_GB/. What do you think about this? It said in a review that "the line between game player and game maker is blurred in littlebigplanet", which seems pretty interesting, but maybe somewhat like Guildwars?? Except that the characters are these little burlap sack guys :) . I thought they looked a little immature, but after scrolling down I think they become a little more sinister looking (for burlap sack dolls). Kind of like The Nightmare before Christmas.... What do you think of this game? What's its purpose, is it good, who would like it? I'm trying to figure it out... If you have a minute, check it out and tell me what you think of it. Looking forward to the first gaming sess in Sept. More news on that soon!

After seeing this in a 'most exited for' video back in winter, I've been really exited to see what it'll give us.

I think it'll definantely be worth getting, it seems like a good game to watch, being sort of a puzzle game. But it also involves some skill, so if one person fails, another can succeed.

You think Littlebigplanet is worth getting, Noah? It would definitely add a new dynamic I think. What do you mean, if one person fails, another can succeed? Like, some people will do well on it and some won't? Or like, it can be a competition, some people will fail BECAUSE another will succeed. Does that make sense? I think we should try and get it! Let's see what the others say... Anyone else have an opinion?

Well, since it involves skill, it's worth taking turns, and trying out, to test yourself in a way.

But if it was only a puzzle game, then people would just watch one person play, and give tips. Because everyone knows they can't do any better.

So I guess it can be a competition.

    If that makes any sense.
