My new Rig!
by Sean on Nov.22, 2009, under
OH MY! Not many people have posted in quite a while. Lets remedy that shall we? Just recently I had my birthday and recieved the best gift ever given to me. I now have a 25 inch widescreen monitor! Its absolutely fantastic, and I have no idea what to do with all the space! Unfortunately my current computer is such a wreck that I can only have it at the maximum resolution of 1920x1080. HOWEVER that is soon to be rectified with the new order of the following parts for a new gaming rig I will be building myself! Take a look if you care to:
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131384
Processor: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103680
Case: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119068
Memory: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145184
Power Supply: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341012
With those parts and the added combination of my old harddrives and DVD drive, will produce one of the strongest computers I will have ever had the pleasure of using. From what I have gleaned from the internet, the games I previously used to play(Oblivion, Garry's Mod, Team Fortress, Fallout 3, EVE Online and Sims 3) will be able to run at maximum graphics settings and still be able to run at 50+ frames per second! I just have to wait a bit less than 2 weeks for the parts to arrive and then I will have this beauty of a machine to play with.
In other news, I am getting closer to the point where I can pay for my EVE Online subscription with the in game currency. In about a months time, I will be absolutely rolling in money, or at least thats the plan. I can very soon fly the best bulk mining ship in the game and with it will come massive profits. Not only that, but once I really get started, Ill be able to juggle more than one account while only having to pay to get the others started!
And last, I have made a new desktop picture for myself due to the massive size of my monitor using Photoshop CS3 and some brushes I downloaded from Deviantart.com. My only regret is that I didnt put it in multiple layers and had the background as white.=P It can be seen at the following link. (Note: it is a bit large so you might need to scroll around it to get a good look at it).

I recently bought my own computer. Im not custom building my own but with the back to school savings i got ($455) it costs about the same, and i didn't have to do any work <3. Its a Dell Inspiron, Quad Core PCU at 2.5GHz, 6GB memory running on Vista 64bit with free upgrade to windows 7, ATI Radeon graphics card (not sure of exact model, and it comes with a 1TB hard drive! Its my sweet new rig, i can play Assassins Creed, Fallout, FEAR, anything i want on full graphics and still run everything as smooth as if they were on low graphics. Im loving it so much!
