Guitar Hero : World Tour... NEVER AGAIN!
by Sean on Nov.22, 2009, under

Let me be the first on this site to say...THIS GAME IS THE WORST RHYTHM BASED GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED! I mean seriously. Here's a list of things that are bad about it;
1: You cant hear the music. The game plays so damn fast, yet manages to drag on and on, yet is still unbelievably easy. Even Nate, NATE, can play songs on expert, and he normally plays on medium or low leveled hard songs.
2: The graphical design of the game is incredibly "guitar hero". The cartoony design is extremely reminicent of guitar hero 3, and seems like they almost copied and pasted the same textures and models from the previous game.
3:Not only that, fretboards are cluttered and impossible to read properly on a CRT TV. The displays for score and star power are now at the top left as opposed to rockbands top right, and you cant even see if youre failing the song or not.
4: When you fail a song, it doesnt say anything at all. Not even a "Failure" pops up. The song just stops, and the crowd keeps cheering.
5: The movements of the band members are exremely limited and its exactly the same as guitar hero 3. Only improvement is that the drummer looks less like a robot when he drums.
6: The game is just too immature. When compared to Rock Band, It is definitely the younger brother despite the fact that Rock Band is about 3 years younger than the guitar hero franchise.
7: The character customization system is completely bland and no matter what you do, you cant make people look any different.
8: I just hate Guitar Hero in general, but this one is especially horrible. I liked Guitar Hero 3 on my Wii than the 360 version of this game.
9:Now, last but not least, the "BEGINNER" difficulty. Thats right. A difficulty easier than easy.
You dont even need to hold down any of the frets. These purple bars just decend down and you just have to strum whenever it passes. It was so boring, me and Nate actually missed some of them, but that was also due to the low volume.
Now I know I am a biased source of information because I love and will never abandon the Rock Band series, but I suggest that you never, ever, EVER play this game. It will scar you, just like it scarred me.

So, forgive me for not knowing, but what was the purpose of Guitar Hero: World Tour supposed to be? What was the difference supposed to be from the original Guitar Hero(s)?
