MMORPGs

So savvy gamers, I have a story/comment/question for you all.
I have just started playing 12 Sky. For those of you who have not heard of it, it is a ninja RPG from Aeria Games (www.12-sky.com).
Now I am usually one who does NOT enjoy RPGs, mostly because I'm just not into the whole fantasy world type of thing. 12 Sky however, just piqued my interest from the start. Perhaps for me it is because the plot is more realistic than others that I've come in contact with. Not to mention, I love being an ass-kicking ninja girl. I've been playing it nearly every day, and reading the message boards a lot to pick up extra tips or insight into the game.
So my question for all of you is, what is it exactly that appeals to you in MMORPGs? Do you do a lot of pre-reading before you start playing so that way you know what the purpose is/when the quests begin, or do you just jump on in and give it all you've got?
And, in the slight chance that you play this game, I play on the Devotion server, and my name is requin.

October 22, 2008 at 11:50 AMI have ordered this game online and am expecting it by October 25th
I think the appeal of an MMORPG is that you take on the life of another person and are able to do things you couldn’t normally do and experience the consequences or the rewards.

I started to get this, but then my computer crashed, so I decided to play something I already had instead.
It looked pretty good, I normally just download random games, hoping they'll be good.
I don't play too many MMORPG's anymore, a while ago I got all around and tried out just about every new release. But lately I've been more into online shooters/room based games.
The thing I got bored of in all the MMORPG's is that most of them take hardly any skill, it's mostly about how much time you spend playing it.
