Hmmm, Im not sure if you can close it off to a specific range of people or not, but here are some links:

seriously? I had no idea that the DS had wireless capabilities - does that mean that if a friend has a DS and the same game that you can play head to head sitting right next to each other?

Better than that.
Your friend can download a temporary demo of the game if they do not have it, and they don't have to be right next to eachother. The demo restricts some capabilities of the game, like certain characters, logo's, etc.
